Rev. Dwayne M. Simmons

 

Pastor D. M. Simmons was born on December 12, 1968 to Charlie and Rilla Mae Simmons both of Starksville Mississippi. Pastor Simmons is the youngest of three siblings, and the only one born here in the Great State of Ohio. He is married to the beautiful Latonya Simmons and to this union God blessed them with two children, Jenai Nicole who has gone on to be with the Lord and Brandi Nicole; they also have a set of twins Adrienne and Andrea. Pastor Simmons received his education in the Cleveland Public Schools system. Upon completion of High school, Pastor Simmons went to Columbus, Ohio to further his education at The Ohio State University and The DeVry Institute of Technology.

 

Pastor Simmons acknowledged God's calling in 1996. His initial sermon and Ministerial License sanctioning God's chosen were received in March 1997 from the Blessed Hope Missionary Baptist Church under the still current leadership of Rev. John Twymon. There, Pastor Simmons served as an Associate Minister and, through the divine revelation of the Holy Spirit, implemented a Prison and Nursing home Ministry called "Beyond These Walls." He also served on several youth committees to help assist in the development of the youth in the community. Pastor Simmons sang faithfully with the Male Chorus and taught several classes as needed under Pastor Twymon.

 

On Mother's Day in 2005, he preached his first sermon as the Pastor of the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church. Since his installation as Pastor and Spiritual Leader, the Lord has continuously blessed this ministry. Through God's vision and Pastor Simmons' obedience, the church has grown tremendously; many souls have been saved and countless lives changed. To God be the Glory.....

 

Pastor Simmons currently holds multiple certifications in the field of Computer Science and Church Theology. To compliment what the Holy Spirit has instilled in him, he is currently enrolled and pursuing his Bachelor of Divinity at the Moody Theological Seminary focusing of Christian Education.

 

Presently employed with Progressive Insurance, Pastor Simmons is an IT Manager responsible for a team of 8 Direct reports in the areas of Operational Performance and Volume production.
