Greetings and welcome to our home on the web. I am Dwayne M. Simmons the pastor
of The Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church. Our vision is to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ
to the whole man, compelling them to come to know Jesus as their personal savior. To
minister to the needs of all of God's children spiritually, physically, mentally,
economically, and socially. This will be accomplished through the four pillars of the
church; preaching, teaching, evangelism and discipleship.
The vision is to build people through in-reach and outreach programs. Training men,
women, boys, and girls to walk worthy of the vocation in which they have been called.
Our Mission is to bring persons into a saving redemptive relationship with Jesus
Christ. We are a Spiritual body whose only foundation is the Word of God. We fulfill
our ministry as we preach and teach, pray and empower, forgive and reconcile.
Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church seeks to be God's agents of healing and wholeness in a
wounded and fragmented community. Furthermore, Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church
seeks to be a congregation that ministers to all of its members and values its youth by
religiously educating them so that they may live balanced and fruitful lives.
We are delighted that you took the time to visit us. The church is blessed to have
served the Mt. Pleasant and surrounding communities for over 70 years and
